Why your voice matters more than ever

As health care providers, we know that trustworthy, evidence-based information is one of the most powerful tools we have to support our patients. We see firsthand how misinformation, confusion, and stigma, shape the choices young people make about their sexual and reproductive health. That’s why we’re inviting you to share your voice where it’s needed most.

Bedsider is launching a video series, and they want to feature you. This new initiative amplifies provider voices in short-form video content to reach young people where they are: on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

The goal? To educate. To counter misinformation. To offer clear, compassionate, medically accurate guidance in 90 seconds or less.

The demand is there. So is the gap

A recent survey from Power to Decide found that nearly 80% of young people want information about contraception and abortion from health care providers. That’s the good news. The hard part?Only 33% received any information about contraception in the past year, and just 3% received information about abortion.

That’s not a small gap—it’s a chasm. And it’s a call to action for all of us who care about informed, equitable care.

You don’t need a studio. Just your expertise

You don’t need to be a social media pro. You don’t need special editing software. What you do need is what you already have: clinical knowledge, a commitment to care, and the ability to speak directly to the questions young people are asking—questions about birth control methods, emergency contraception, abortion access, STI prevention, and more.

Bedsider will review topic suggestions and provide example content, in addition to tips for delivering high quality videos. Providers will be compensated for accepted video content.

Why it matters

When we speak directly to young people outside of clinical settings, we meet them in spaces that feel accessible, informal, and welcoming. We help them make informed choices. We show them that medical professionals can be clear, honest, and judgment-free. We show up for them. And right now, they need that more than ever.

Ready to share what you know?

Apply to submit your idea for a short video today. Whether it’s a myth you want to bust, a quick rundown of method options, or a script you already use in the exam room, your perspective is exactly what this project needs.
